We search Google Shopping for each product you watch, by its name and brand, once a week. Each store that lists the same product becomes a competitor. Products that only you sell have no competitors to show.
We read each competitor's page once a day. A sale that starts and ends between two reads can be missed.
From the product data on the competitor's page: in stock or sold out. Most stores publish it. Stores rarely show how many units they have, so we report sold out and back in stock, not quantities.
